Waitangi is a place of cultural, spiritual, and historical significance for Aotearoa New Zealand and has been a place of gathering for hundreds of years.
With panoramic sea views, parklike grounds and lush native bush, Waitangi is the ideal site for your next gathering. Waitangi Treaty Grounds features a variety of venues to suit conferences, corporate functions, meetings, weddings, and other special events.
Tahuaroa, the recently opened event space with a venue capacity of 190, has transformed the portfolio of events Waitangi can cater for. The new venue is located behind Te Rau Aroha museum amongst the native trees of the Upper Treaty Grounds. With its own private entrance, wraparound decking and contemporary design, Tahuaroa is a distinctive space for your event. Fitted with partitioning walls, the space can be adapted into three separate rooms.
Other indoor spaces include the Learning Centre, the Board Room, Whare Waka Café, Te Kōngahu Museum foyer and Te Whare Rūnanga
For larger events (200+), The Treaty Grounds offers a variety of outdoor marquee locations with natural bush surroundings and spectacular views over the Bay of Islands.
Paired with an excellent onsite hospitality team, Waitangi Treaty Grounds is the ideal place for your next function. But remember, Waitangi is more than just a venue. If offers the opportunity to add unique experiences such as a private pōwhiri, behind the scenes museum tours, workshops and tailormade cultural experiences
